Since my visit to El Socorro farm back in 2022, I have put serious effort into not just bringing a coffee from El Socorro, but in crowning that journey with a truly special offering. As you know, we don’t often present coffee collections, especially after the pandemic and all that followed. This is partly due to the increasing demands of our business processes, but also because I believe we have reached our goal of “making good coffee accessible” here in Turkey, thanks to the many talented roasters we now have.
Recently, during the LPET sessions at Kafein Kültür, we had the chance to experience Meetlab’s Panama Competition Series coffees. Similarly, thanks to Atahan’s remarkable initiative at Hermod, exceptionally high-end coffees are reaching enthusiasts. Many other valuable initiatives are also doing fantastic work in the field of making good coffee accessible.
The El Socorro washed Gesha was among my personal top five coffees in 2022. Even before that, El Socorro had already earned a well-deserved reputation with multiple first-place finishes at the Cup of Excellence. This year, the farm continued its success, securing 3rd place with a remarkable 90.65 points.
If you’d like to dive deeper into the story, my vlog series from the farm tour is still live on the Baristatus YouTube channel — it’s a great companion to your cup!
